The streak is now at seven games. New Jersey won, in my opinion, its biggest game of the year Thursday night against the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins. After last nights win against Anaheim, they had to travel to Pittsburgh to face a team that had lost its previous three games. The fact that it was a divisional game and the Pens have hit a bit of a slide, my initial thought on the game was that it was going to be one of the toughest to date for the Devils.
The first goal was awarded to the Penguins at 11:32 of [...]
Archive for November, 2009
The Devils came into the night in search of their sixth straight win and third home win in a row. Well, simply put, the Devils dominated the Ducks tonight. In a rematch from the 2003 Stanley Cup Final, the Devils welcomed the Anaheim Ducks to Newark, looking for their first regular season victory over Anaheim since that same 2003 season. When it was all said and done, they had their victory over the Ducks to capture their sixth win in a row and they did it in very convincing fashion. New Jersey dictated the flow of game; they owned the [...]
Lou Lamoriello HOF Speech
Here is the video of the Lou Lamoriello Hall of Fame induction speech. He was the only non-player inducted into the Hall this year and it was a very nice, heat felt speech. Enjoy.
After defeating the New York Islanders on Friday night, the Devils had to re-focus quickly as they went up north to face the Ottawa Senators in Canada’s Capital. The first period was scoreless up until a goal at the 14:00 mark by Milan Michalek (his seventh) and just like that the Devils were down 1-0, similar to last nights affair. There were solid saves through out the first period from both Brodeur and Leclaire, leading one to believe it was going to be a low scoring affair once more for the Devs.
In the second period the Devils increased the amount of [...]

The Devils won their fourth in a row on Friday night, the same night Patrik Elias made his return to the lineup. They beat the Islanders in the first meeting of the year between their Atlantic Division rivals. With Yann Danis in goal for New Jersey, he put up yet another great effort in relief of Marty Broduer, as he stopped every shot but one against his former team.
The Islanders struck first in the contest after a first period goal from Frans Nielsen at 6:23 of the first period. The period ended with that lone goal, but the Devils came [...]
