Scott Burnside a Total Jackass

I am going to make this short and to the point. Prior to the season starting, Scott Burnside of ESPN made his annual prediction that the Devils would miss the playoffs that “this would be the year”, “they just don’t have enough offense”. For anyone out there who does not use ESPN as their hockey news supplier (and why would you? I only use it for quickly updated stats), Scott Burnside predicts almost every season the Devils will either miss the playoffs or finish near the bottom eight and just squeak into the post season. Well now that they have clearly proven him wrong again, he is predicting they win the Atlantic right now and not just win he is saying they are “running away with it”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How can a respected sports network empire like ESPN have this moron still work for them. He is never right about anything and when he is wrong, he doesn’t admit to it and just jumps on the bandwagon. He actually predicted the Devils would finish 24th in league overall. TWENTY-FOURTH! Any hockey fan, whether you hate New Jersey or not, knows that the Devils organization is incapable of falling that far from grace. A simliar scenario is the situation going on up in Detroit these days. They have been hockey’s dominant team for much of the past decade, but off-season losses and injuries have left them hovering around the playoff circle, yet they are still contenders, not outright bottom-feeders. When Burnside made this prediction I ranted about it then, you think I am going to forgive him because he is forgetting his retarded predictions? Absolutely not. I hate ESPN’s hockey coverage, MOSTLY because of him, but also because they dont give the game enough credit where it is due. I will say though that Barry Melrose and John Buccigross are fantastic hockey dudes, they get it.
