Couple things this afternoon…if there is indeed a season, we know what days and times the New Jersey Devils will appear on national television and it looks like there won’t be any labor talks until Friday. More content coming later on today!
Tom Gulitto of the Bergen Record details the games where the Devils will be on national TV. There first one will be on October 17th when the New York Rangers come into town for a Eastern Conference Finals rematch. That game will be on NBC Sports Network. The NHL Network will have the “Zach Parise returns to The Rock” game against the Minnesota Wild as well as a Stanley Cup Finals rematch when the Los Angeles Kings come back to Newark. More details of the Devils national games HERE. Also, if you are interested in the ENTIRE NHL television broadcast schedule, you can find it HERE. For the second straight year, the NHL coverage starts with the Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown featuring the Boston Bruins and….guess who? The Rangers.
Martin Brodeur will be wearing a new set of goaltending equipment this year, specifically his pads, glove and blocker all made by Vaughn. It has a very retro feel. Check out the pictures at Hockey Buzz by clicking HERE.
The NHLPA will not be making a counter proposal today. In fact, talks have stopped altogether today but will pick up again on Friday. Sportsnet has more info and details HERE.
There a couple of player notes as well. Kyle Turris has agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators. Contract details can be found HERE.
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Zach Bogosian has to undergo surgery to repair his right wrist. Experiencing discomfort during the offseason, Bogosian was diagnosed with a chronic ligament tear in his right wrist. More details HERE.
