New Jersey Devils Look To Continue Home Dominance

The Prudential Center has been friendly to the New Jersey Devils this season. The Devils are 3-0-1 at home, earning seven of a possible eight points, and have outscored opponents 13-8 at the Rock.

The Devils sit with the Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, and Chicago Blackhawks as the teams who have not lost at home in regulation this season.

Martin Brodeur has played every minute in net for the Devils at home this season. Brodeur’s goals against average (GAA) at home is 2.00 as opposed to 3.33 on the road and 2.51 overall.

The Devils have produced more offense at home this season and they will have to continue this tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning, led by Steven Stamkos, have scored a league leading forty goals this season and average 4.44 goals per game. The Devils only average 2.55 goals per game.

After tonight’s game, the Devils will host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday at 1:00. Due to the impending winter storm, there is a chance that the game will be affected. If any changes are made, the game’s start time will likely be pushed back to later in the day. The teams are scheduled to complete a home and home series on Sunday evening, so both teams will be heading to Pittsburgh after Saturday’s game regardless of the start time.
