Prospect Watch: Boucher, Merrill, Matteau Playing Well In The System

The New Jersey Devils have had prospects playing very well as of late. Even though it has only been a few games, these players have been playing at high levels. Lets have a look:

Reid Boucher - After having a monster record breaking season in the OHL, Reid Boucher went to the AHL and has continued to play at an extreme level. In five games with Albany, Boucher has registered three goals and two assists.

He also has an even plus/minus, pretty good because Albany is on a four game losing streak. Boucher also boasts a 21.4 shooting percentage, the current highest on the team. This means one out of every five shots he takes reaches the back of the net. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Jon Merrill - The stud defenseman from the Michigan Wolverines signed his amateur tryout deal around the same time as Boucher. Merrill has also played very well. In six games with Albany, Merrill has one goal and five assists. He is only five points shy of his point total in 21 games at the University of Michigan this season. Impressive for playing at a considerably higher level.

Stefan Matteau - The 2012 first-round draft pick has played at a high level since being returned to his QMJHL team the Blainville-Broisband Armada. Matteau was returned so he could play in the QMJHL Playoffs. In eight playoff games, Matteau has posted three goals and four assists for seven points.
