The New Jersey Devils made a few splashes into free agency Friday.

The Devils started the day signing former New York Rangers forward Ryane Clowe to a 5-year $24 million contract. Clowe had 3 goals and 16 assists in 2013.

Following Clowe, the Devils signed under the radar Rostistlav Olesz, who was out all of 2013 due to ACL surgery, to a one-year $1 million contract.

Michael Ryder was inked to a two-year $7 million contract. Ryder scored 16 goals in 2013, more than any Devil. Ryder will be exciting to watch along side Ilya Kovalchuk and Travis Zajac.

Lastly, going back to the NHL Draft, the Devils acquired goaltender Cory Schneider from the Vancouver Canucks for the ninth overall pick in the 2013 Draft. Schneider is now the successor to the legendary Martin Brodeur.
