Brodeur Unsure If He Will Start on Thursday

The New Jersey Devils spent their second-to-last preseason day with another practice.

Count on these D-Pairs for Thursday. These pairs look fairly balanced and I don’t have a problem with them at all.

Ryane Clowe eventually joined the second PP unit with Damien Brunner and Adam Henrique. I am liking the looks that the Devils are putting out there for their PP units.

Martin Brodeur’s status for Thursday’s Season Opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the CONSOL Energy Center is currently uncertain. Brodeur said that he knows that he won’t play both games (referring to the Home Opener against the New York Islanders on Friday at the Prudential Center). He hasn’t talked to DeBoer about a final verdict relating to the starting goalie and hopefully DeBoer will reveal tomorrow the starting lineup for Thursday’s game.

Brodeur was feeling very rusty after 4 straight days off. He says he is mentally ready for Thursday and it’s up to DeBoer now to conclude if he is starting or not.

If you are watching the Blackhawks vs. Capitals game, or any of the games for that matter, I hope you are enjoying the beginning of the season!

Also, after hearing (but not yet seeing yet) about George Parros’ scary injury, I wish all of the best. It happened during a fight and I will need to see it to see how bad it was but it was bad considering he got taken off on a stretcher and looked like he was in scary condition. I hope for all the best with Parros.
