As we journey straight into….the Twilight Zone.

Well the suspense of who will get sent down with Mattias Tedenby’s return was instantly killed with the news of Ryane Clowe’s injury. He has been placed on IR retroactive to Sunday. Clowe will miss tomorrow’s game against the Ottawa Senators and Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers.

Ryan Carter will also be ready for tomorrow’s game against the Senators.

And in a shocking turn of events, Martin Brodeur will start in net tomorrow night. Let me save you the suspense, Cory Schneider is starting on Saturday.

The fact he isn’t letting one goalie settle in net is beyond me. I don’t know how Pete DeBoer expects results this way. While the lineups are not official yet, practices have pointed to Mark Fayne sitting out and one of the forwards will be sitting with Carter and Tedenby playing.

Hopefully, whatever moves DeBoer makes will pay off but the state of this team is very worrying. The Devils are in a volatile situation right now and Lou Lamoriello cannot afford to make the same mistake he made with John MacLean.

The Devils also spent a lot of time working on the powerplay today in practice. They are 1-for-15 on the powerplay for the season.

It will be interesting to see where Tedenby is placed now that Clowe is out. Let’s hope the Devils can get their first win tomorrow night.
