Tonight, the New Jersey Devils will conclude their road trip at the Canadian Tire Centre to face off against the Ottawa Senators starting at 7:30 PM EST.

The Devils are a game away from starting the season with 7 losses and if they lose tonight, Pete DeBoer’s hot seat will only get hotter.

They will be adding more speed to their lineup tonight with the season debut of Mattias Tedenby. Ryan Carter will also be returning to the lineup tonight to add the chemistry back to the CBGB line.

The same defensemen will be dressing but there is a change in the first two pairs. Adam Larsson will be paired with Bryce Salvador in the first pairing and Marek Zidlicky moves down to the second pairing with Andy Greene. Anton Volchenkov and Peter Harrold are still together with Mark Fayne a healthy scratch.

Rostislav Olesz will be a healthy scratch once again tonight. Tedenby has been practicing with Travis Zajac and Michael Ryder and he will likely be plucked on that line.

The Devils have been focusing on their powerplay in practice as they have only scored 1 goal in 15 tries and need to work on getting shots on goal instead of shooting the puck directly at the defensemen.

Tonight will be Ottawa’s home opener after starting the first 6 games on the road.
