Ryane Clowe Injury Update; Devils Injury Obscurity

Ryane Clowe was seen practicing with a limited amount of Devils this morning. Hopefully Clowe can come back sometime before the Olympics because at the rate things have been going, he will still be out for a while.

Lou Lamoriello also had Clowe protected by a team bodyguard and was very strict about anyone being near him.

Rich Chere and Tom Gulitti were very….bothered, to say the least.

I don’t feel like I should comment on their tweets so much because they are fans like all of us and the frustration can definitely build if you are exposed to the obscurity that Lamoriello loves to give the reporters.

We hear all the time about “lacerations” and “lower-body injuries” and “concussion symptoms” and when that player finally returns, the media can’t even talk to them.

It’s one thing to just keep a tight lid on things but Clowe has been out since mid-October and no one has been able to talk to him in almost 2 months. I think everyone wants to know what went wrong and why it kept him out for so long.

It almost makes you wonder if something else has been going on with him.

When the team is under .500 for most of the season and it has been a pretty frustrating season to this point when it comes to injuries and the Lou always does his best to give us very little about the injury.

Once again, sometimes it makes sense, but most times it can get a little annoying.

Speaking of injury updates, the Devils expect 0 injured guys to play tomorrow which means a roster spot will be open including the healthy scratches of Adam Henrique and Ryan Carter.

Pete DeBoer said that there is a chance Adam will play but is a “game-time decision.”

Maybe the Devils call up a forward? It would be nice to finally see Joe Whitney in the NHL.
