New Jersey Devils Cancel Morning Skate Due To Snow

Winter Storm Hercules has forced the Devils to cancel their morning skate this morning. The Devils will be taking on the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at the Prudential Center.

The Blackhawks were in Long Island last night to take on the New York Islanders so their travel isn’t as much of a hassle either.

Pete DeBoer already broke the silence on the starting goaltender during the preparation for this game during the week. The starter will be Martin Brodeur.

Brodeur is coming off of a great showing against the Pittsburgh Penguins on New Year’s Eve.

Ryan Carter was skating with Steve Bernier and Stephen Gionta in yesterday’s practice as it seems he may be close to returning.
Patrik Elias, who was reported to have “total-body soreness” the last couple of days, did not practice yesterday possibly as just a precaution.

The lines looked like this:

If Carter does indeed return, someone will need to be sent down and with the Devils recently sending down Tim Sestito to make room for Bryce Salvador, it seems that the demotion could come from the forward department.
