Note from the Editor: This is what happens when you lose a bet. Time to eat my words.

In case you missed it, we bet with Blue Line Station that the Devils would win. Since they did not, here is the recap that will be all about the Rangers.

The Devils lost today at Yankee Stadium to the true kings of the area. I’m not even talking about King Henrik Lundqvist.

They were clearly outmatched by a superior New York Rangers squad at Yankee Stadium. The Devils jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first period but completely imploded in full force of a dominant Rangers offense.

The Rangers proved they truly are the best team in the area and brought the New Jersey club to their knees in this game. Martin Brodeur looked…..(I need to take a deep breath for this) soft and old and like a chump today when challenged by the Rangers.

Martin Brodeur was giving up so many goals, he was pulled in favor of Cory Schneider.

Marc Staal, Derek Stepan, Mats Zuccarello (2), Rick Nash, and Carl Hagelin scored the 6 consecutive Ranger goals in this game.

Stepan’s goal which was the 7th for the Rangers today was on a glorious penalty shot that Schneider had no chance with.

The Rangers continue their climb to success as they widen their lead for second place to 3 points over the Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers. Let’s be honest, were the Devils ever a threat?

The Rangers are undeniably the best team in the area and shouldn’t even be in the same sentence as the Devils.

In all seriousness though, Blue Line Station is a great blog and bets are bets and the losers need to honor the bet. They are running a great blog over there and I highly recommend checking them out regardless.
