It appears that there will be a moose sighting in Bridgeport, Connecticut today. Well, there definitely will be, but will Johan Hedberg start for the Albany Devils?

In short, it is highly likely. Today’s game versus the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Wesbter Bank Arena is the third game in as many nights for the Devils affiliate.

On Friday night at Boardwalk Hall, the Devils lost to the Hershey Bears, the affiliate of the Washington Capitals, 3-2 in a shootout. Last night, the team defeated the Adirondack Phantoms, the affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-1 in front of a nice home crowd at Times Union Center. Both games were started by goaltender Scott Wedgewood.

Following last night’s game, Albany head coach Rick Kowlasky responded to questions regarding Hedberg’s potential start today saying, “Yes, we are definitely going to have that discussion now (i.e. the coaching staff).”

In my opinion, it’ll be Hederg. Click here starting at 3:00 for a Live Blog of Hedberg’s prospective start at the AHL level. I am in the building.
