The Albany Devils have recently turned around their season after a horrible slump and one main reason for that is due to their recent penalty kill success. They are 35 for their last 35 and are greatly reducing their opponents’ chance of scoring with the man advantage.
Due to those numbers, the Devils are 5-2-0-1 in their last 8 and had a much deserved week off after a back-to-back-to-back. They will take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in Atlantic City tomorrow.
The A-Devils are ranked 8th in the AHL in penalty kill and are facing two teams that are on the opposite side of the powerplay spectrum this season. The Penguins are 22nd in the AHL and Providence has the 8th-best PP in the AHL.
The Devils are making a late season push for the division title as they are only 5 points out of 1st place thanks to their latest surge.
The Devils also have a game in hand over the first place Springfield Falcons.
They are currently in 5th place in the Eastern Conference but need to be careful as another losing streak cold find them out of playoff contention. The only thing separating them and the 9th-place Hershey Bears are two points.
