Sharks (38-17-6) at Devils (26-22-13)
TV – MSG
Radio – WFAN 660 AM & 101.9 FM
Last 10 – San Jose (5-5-0), New Jersey (5-3-2)
This is the second and final meeting between the two teams. The Sharks held onto a 2-1 lead for a victory against the Devils on Nov. 23.
Martin Brodeur may have made his last appearance as a Devil yesterday in their 6-1 rout of the New York Islanders. Cory Schneider is back in net for the Devils and hopes to get the same goal support he got on Thursday.
Devils: The Devils have scored 11 goals in their past two games, the highest total over that span this season. They are also searching for their second three game win streak of their 2013-14 campaign. This game could be a huge impact on their playoff hunt.
Sharks: The Sharks have slowed down as of late, going 5-5 in their last 10 games. That is worrisome for a team that was on fire for the first half of the year. Antti Niemi let up three goals on 19 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday.
San Jose forward Tomas Hertl (knee) and defenseman Brad Stuart (lower-body) are both on Injured Reserve. Devils forward Damien Brunner (charlie horse) and defenseman Bryce Salvador (chest) are day-to-day.
