USA Sled Hockey Advances To Gold Medal Game, Shuts Out Canada 3-0


Sochi, RU - The United States got revenge on team Canada after losing in both Men’s and Women’s hockey in the 2014 Olympics. The US Sled Hockey team shut out Canada 3-0 to advance to the gold medal game against Russia on Saturday.

New Jersey’s own Josh Pauls notched a goal and an assist. Pauls, a Green Brook native, has a goal and two assists so far in the tournament. The US also received two goals and an assist from Tampa, FL native Declan Farmer.

Goalie Steve Cash stopped all 11-shots from Team Canada, giving the United States their first win over Canada in the 2014 Olympic Games.

Team USA will face off against Russia for their second straight gold medal on Saturday at Noon EST. The US defeated Canada at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver for the gold medal. This will not be an easy task to repeat as Russia defeated the US 2-1 earlier in the tournament.
