Martin Brodeur will start for the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins.

Martin Brodeur was in net on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Brodeur gave up 3 goals as the Devils were shut out and lost their 2nd straight game.

Bryce Salvador sat out of today’s practice while he continues to nurse a sore groin. Unfortunately, Bryce will probably play tomorrow night according to Pete DeBoer.

The news of Salvador starting is…well….you have heard it all to this point. It is what it is. He is under contract for next season as well so, take it for what it is.

Ryan Carter did not practice today and is “doubtful” to start tomorrow night.

Tom Gulitti reported that there is a reasonable chance that Eric Gelinas will start tomorrow night. Gelinas has been scratched the past 3 games.

The defense has been such a disaster lately and seeing Salvador slated to play while guys like Eric Gelinas sit is just mind-numbing. Even if you feel that Gelinas isn’t too good defensively, at least his offense makes up for it.

The Devils need to rebound in a big way tomorrow night against the Bruins. The stretch of games that the Devils face in this homestand is absolutely brutal and they could be all but eliminated about halfway through.

Hopefully the Devils can show some heart and pull the fan base out of the depths of despair.
