Devils Will Have New Goal Song Fan “Vote” AGAIN Next Year

New Jersey Devils president Hugh Weber hosted a Twitter Q&A at 2:30pm Thursday afternoon. One of the questions asked by Twitter user Robmg27 asked if Devils fans could select a new goal song because there are “Better ones out there.”

Weber answered:

The Devils already tried a fan “vote” this season that ended in a massive uproar by the fan base. Should management test the fans one more time? This is not the smartest idea by the front office unless Gary Glitter’s Rock & Roll Part 2 is a choice.

I myself have gotten used to Seven Nation Army, especially after the past two games where the awful “Let’s Go Devils” did not come on after each section of Oh’s, or as the scoreboard shows, “Go-o-o-o-o-o-oal”.

If the Devils do choose to do a fan “vote”, and I say “vote” because it is skeptical whether they truly counted the votes; which song would you like to see be the new song? (Other than Rock & Roll Part 2 please!)

My vote would be Naughty By Nature’s Hip Hop Hooray.

Or How about Bruce Springsteen’s Seaside Bar Song?? Start at 4:15!

The problem is no matter what they pick, it will disappoint fans. That’s why I was fine with a “classic” song like Seven Nation Army.

As for suggestions hmmmm it’s hard to think of a good one that the fans could get into.
