The New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs will meet for the last time this season and the only time at the Prudential Center. The first two games ended in a shootout with Toronto coming out on top with finals of 3-2 and 2-1.
Pete DeBoer announced that Anton Volchenkov will not play tonight with a lower body injury.
The Devils are in disaster mode when it comes to the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They would basically need to win out to have a solid chance of getting in. Tonight would be a great time to start.
Then again, we say that every game day.
The Devils are coming off a disappointing loss at the hands of the New York Rangers in a game where they never really showed too much promise on offense.
The Maple Leafs are also coming off of their 4th straight loss and find themselves falling down the playoff ladder very quickly. Although they are in the 1st wild card position, only 2 points separate them and the Columbus Blue Jackets for 4th in the wild card standings.
David Clarkson will be making his return to the Prudential Center tonight for the first time since he left through free agency last summer. He has had a very underwhelming season for the Leafs this season.
Cory Schneider will get the start tonight. Cory is starting for the first time since his first win after the Olympic Break. The 4-3 against the Minnesota Wild opened up a little glimmer of hope that has now been shut once again after the disappointing loss last night.
The game can be found on MSG+ and LEAF. On the radio, the game can be found on WCBS 880.
