TV - MSG
Radio - WFAN 660 AM & 101.9 FM
Last 10: Phoenix (6-3-1); New Jersey (5-5-0)
This is the final of a two-game series for the two teams. Phoenix came out on top in the first match, winning 3-2 in Phoenix on January 18.
Phoenix is finishing up a three-game road trip to the Metropolitan division. The Devils are in need of two points as they finish up their five-game home stand.
Phoenix - The ‘Yotes are going to roll with back-up goaltender Thomas Greiss due to starting goaltender Mike Smith suffering an injury during Monday night’s game against the New York Rangers. The Coyotes are currently clinging onto the second wild card spot in the Western Conference and are searching desperately for wins to hold it.
New Jersey - The Devils are coming off an important 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Sunday. Each game from here on out is a must-win for the Devs, who currently sit five points out of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. If the Devils lose tonight it will pretty much bury their playoff hopes.
Shane Doan of the Coyotes has five goals and seven assists in his last 14 games.
Patrik Elias has six goals and 10 assists in his last 13 for the Devils.
Phoneix goaltender Mike Smith (lower body) is day-to-day. Forward Lauri Korpikoski (upper body) is available despite missing the past two games. Defenseman David Schlemko (foot) remains on injured reserve.
Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov (lower body) and forward Tim Sestito (upper body) both did not practice on Wednesday and are not going to play.
