The New Jersey Devils’ playoff fate is in the hands of the Dallas Stars tonight. This game is the one that was rescheduled due to Rich Peverley‘s collapse about a month ago.

The game will start at 1-0 and the full 60 minutes will be played. With Columbus’ win against the Phoenix Coyotes last night, the Devils are all but eliminated from the postseason now. A Columbus win tonight would seal that fact.

As the Devils wind down their season, there are plenty of questions that the team is facing. Will Martin Brodeur leave or retire? Will the Devils commit to Cory Schneider? What will become of Pete DeBoer, Bryce Salvador and other questionable Devils? Who’s contract will be renewed?

13 of 16 teams have clinched a playoff birth. The Boston Bruins have clinched the Eastern Conference and are close to clinching the NHL lead. The Pittsburgh Penguins have clinched the Metropolitan Division while the Minnesota Wild clinched their playoff berth last night.

The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers control their own destinies in the divisional race but Columbus is close behind only 2 points behind Philly.

In the Central and Pacific divisions, fierce battles are taking place for the top spot. With their recent 3-game losing streak, St. Louis is now only 2 points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche and 6 points ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks.

In the Pacific, the Anaheim Ducks hold a 3 point lead over the San Jose Sharks.

Most teams have 3 games remaining except for the Rangers and Wild who only have 2.
