Jaromir Jagr joined the New Jersey Devils in the summer and many wondered how much he would actually contribute. After being injured for the most of preseason, many wondered if the Devils once again wasted their money.

He definitely proved everyone wrong.

As for grades:

Thomas Formoso – A+
David Garrison – A

The only reason I gave Jagr the A+ was because he not only exceeded expectations, he shattered them to pieces. The Team MVP for the 2013-14 season was one of 4 who played in all 82 games this season.

Jagr posted 24 goals and 43 points to register a whopping 67 points for a 42+ year old forward who has seen it all in the NHL. He’s even dipped his toes in the KHL life.

Jaromir was the center of the Devils’ offense early in the series when the team was strapped from production when it mattered most. Jagr’s hockey sense is out of this world and his extensive experience showed that this season.

Jagr has repeatedly said that he wouldn’t mind resigning with New Jersey but he has to evaluate his offers because he wants to play for a Cup Contender, and who can blame him? The man is 42-43 years old.

Jagr’s free agent status is Unrestricted on July 1st.
