Poll: Would You Like Cam Janssen to Return Next Season?

In the spirit of a lot of contract talks as the Stanley Cup Finals hits the back end of the series, this is a question that would seem obvious it weren’t for the fact that Janssen is so likeable.

Cam is coming off of his third consecutive season with the Devils organization and 7th overall.

Janssen had a big season last year with the New Jersey squad as he scored his first multi-goal season since 2003-04 when he scored 4 for the Windsor Spitfires and 7 goals for the Guelph Storm of the OHL.

It is no secret that Cam is a defensive forward and is most known for his fighting history than anything. After all, he was involved in that opening faceoff 5v5 brawl against the New York Rangers a couple years ago. He played 24 games with New Jersey and had 3 goals while he also played 27 games with the Albany Devils and had 3 assists.

Going into this season, Janssen had signed his 4th straight 1-year contract and had $105,000 in his AHL salary with an NHL salary of $550,000. Janssen is an Unrestricted Free Agent this summer.

There isn’t much to discuss with Cam when it comes to the role he can play because his role is on the defensive side as I have already mentioned. Cam is also one of the fan favorites of the organization mainly because he is just an extremely likeable guy.

Would you like to see Cam Janssen return? He certainly won’t be costly, so the only conflict would be the roster spot he could be occupying.
