Devils Select Defenseman Joshua Jacobs With 41st Pick

No surprise here that the New Jersey Devils select a defenseman with their second round pick. The Devils usually select a strong defenseman with their second round pick, they did so last year by drafting Steve Santini.

Joshua Jacobs plays for the Indiana Ice of the USHL where he met his idol Torey Krug. Jacobs says he models his game after Krug and looks up to him. In 56 games, Jacobs scored five goals and had 23 points for the Ice. He has a typical NHL defensive frame at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds.

The Michigan native will play in the NCAA for Michigan State in the 2014-15 season. This is a good pick and he has great vision, passing, and stick skills. This pick reminds me of Jon Merrill, expect him to be up to that level in a few years.
