Today, Tom Gulitti gave a brief overview of today’s scrimmage at NJ Devils Prospect Camp. Today was the last day and the group will go to the New York Yankees game tonight.
The White Team defeated the Red Team 6-3 at the Prudential Center. In the first period Joey Dudek scored the opening goal on goalie Charlie Finn to give a White Team 1-0 lead. Jeremy Brodeur was in net for the White Team and didn’t allow a goal. Finn made a few good saves and only let up 1 goal.
Scott Wedgewood came in for the White Team and posted a good period outside of the one goal he allowed. Reece Scarlett put one past him. Anthony Brodeur replaced Finn but had to face a lot of chances.
Matt Lorito scored on a feed from William Brodeur to give White a 2-0 lead and would do it again later in the period to make it 3-0. Ryan Johnston brought the lead 4-1 right before the end of the period.
The opening goalies returned to the game with Jeremy replacing Wedgewood and Finn replacing Anthony.
Damon Severson cut the lead to 4-2 while Brandon Baddock would get the deflection goal to cut it to 4-3. Michael Ambrosia gave the White a 5-3 lead and Reid Boucher would get the game-winning goal on an empty net.
