Welcome to another edition of Devils Army Links!
CJ Turtoro of In Lou We Trust tried to answer the question of why the Devils scored more for Martin Brodeur than Cory Schneider last season. It was a glaring problem last season, and it’s interesting to see where he goes with his argument.
Here is RedNBlack Hockey reporting on the Brandon Burlon signing that I may or may not have just found out about.
Alex Potts of In Lou We Trust talks about the NJ Devils’ dreadful start to last season and how they can have a much better start to the season.
Burlon’s contract will see him become a Restricted Free Agent once again at the end of the 2015-16 NHL Season. The deal totals at $1.125 million for the two years, with an AAV and Cap Hit of $562,500. His AHL salary will be $80,000 for the first season and $90,000 for the second. His NHL salary would be $550,000 for the first and $575,000 for the second.
Burlon stood at our 4th most important free agent since Jacob Josefson received his contract, but clearly there was no new developments with the guys above him. Carter is still likely deciding, Timmins’ contract is probably still being worked out, and there are clearly problems with the Eric Gelinas negotiations.
Stay tuned to Pucks and Pitchforks for more NJ Devils news!
