Mike Cammalleri and Patrik Elias in Top 40 Fantasy Left Wingers

NHL.com continued their in-depth coverage as the season starts to creep closer and closer. They took a look at the Top 40 Fantasy Left Wingers and 2 Devils made the list.

Matt Sitkoff ranked Mike Cammalleri at 31st in between Alex Tanguay of the Colorado Avalanche (30) and Andrew Ladd of the Winnipeg Jets (32). Patrik Elias just made the list at 38th and Antoine Roussel of the Dallas Stars came in 37th, while Jiri Tlusty of the Carolina Hurricanes come in 39th.

Cammalleri is coming into his first season with the New Jersey Devils. Mike signed a 5-year, $25 million deal to join the team coming off of a 26 goal, 19 assist performance with the Calgary Flames in 2013-14.

Elias has always been a solid point producer and tallied 53 points last season. Aside from the 36-point season in the lockout-shortened season, Elias’ lowest point total for the season since the Y2K theories were put to rest was in 2009-10 when he recorded 48 points. He recorded 45 points in 2005-06, but only played in 38 games that season.

Both guys are listed in a LW ranking but also can play center in a fantasy league and could prove to be helpful in filling either spot on your roster. While there are better choices in the early rounds, Cammy and Patty could be guys that you steal in a later round and still produce a lot of points.

The Top 5 Fantasy Left Wingers were:

1. Taylor Hall, Edmonton Oilers
2. Jamie Benn, Dallas Stars
3. Chris Kunitz, Pittsburgh Penguins
4. Patrick Sharp, Chicago Blackhawks
5. Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit Red Wings
