We’re officially halfway through the New Jersey Devils preseason schedule. It has been an interesting start to the schedule for the team with very little expectations.

The first game of the preseason came in a dominant win against the Washington Capitals. The team scored four goals, including the first ever from Nico Hischier. It was a great outing despite playing against an Ovechkin-less Capitals team.

Game two was an overtime loss to the rival New York Rangers. The game was about to go to the shootout, but Filip Chytil ended things with just four seconds left in the game. There were still good performances by many Devils despite the loss.

In game three, the Devils once again looked good against Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens.

There is a lot to unfold with what we’ve seen so far. Here are a few takeaways from the first three games of the New Jersey Devils preseason.
