New York Islanders 4, Dallas Stars 2

The Islanders swept the Stars this season in a matter of a week. The first game was played on January 6th with the Islanders winning.

Kyle Okposo (NYI RW) earned the first star of the game, scoring his 18th and 19th goal this season. His first and second goals helped the Islanders tie the game at 2.

Kevin Poulin (NYI G) earned his 9th win of the season and second star of the game for his performance. He had 29 saves and a .935 save percentage.

John Tavares (NYI C) earned 3rd star with a goal and an assist. His 21st goal of the season came in the third period and gave the Islanders a 3-2 lead at the time.

The Islanders have now won their 4th game in a row and are starting to climb the standings a little bit. They are 3 points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets who are the next team to pass in both the division and wild card race. The Stars are fading fast with their 6th straight loss and are now 8 points out of the last wild card spot in the Western Conference.
