Tampa Bay Lightning 2, New York Rangers 1 (Tampa Bay wins 2-1)

The Lightning won the rubber match between the two teams this season.

Ben Bishop (TB G) registered his 23rd win of the year with the 33-save performance. This was Bishop’s first start since suffering his latest injury.

Valterri Filppula (TB C) earned 2nd-star and had 26 shifts totaling 23:30 on the ice with 2 blocked shots and 1 minute and 59 seconds of shorthanded time.

Henrik Lundqvist (NYR G) stopped 23 shots in what turned out to be his 17th loss of the season. He is now 15-17-3.

Tampa Bay has now launched themselves in a tie for first in the Atlantic Division while the Rangers have fallen to a tie for the first wild card spot.
