Bobby Farnham (unrestricted)

Here’s a fun fact: did you know that Bobby Farnham went to college at Brown?  Who would have thought?!

Claimed off waivers as the first of a few Pittsburgh cast-offs, Farnham immediately became a fan favorite with his aggressive and sometimes reckless play, earning him the nickname “Wild Thing“. He has a motor that never stops and plays with an edge, making him the prototypical 4th liner.  Enforcers really don’t exist in the NHL anymore, but don’t tell Farnham that, who fought his way into the league.  At only 5’10”, I would call him more of a “pest”.  I’m sure other NHL teams would agree, as he has a way of getting under opposing players’ skin.  He’s physical, and can draw penalties at the same time.

Farnham plays with an energy that his teammates can feed off of night-in and night-out.  He finishes his checks and makes players think twice every time they touch the puck.  He’s stated that he would love to come back to New Jersey next year as well. As long as he learns to play more under control, he deserves a spot on the 4th line with this team.
