4. Taylor Hall: Lady Bing Trophy

Taylor Hall has been a very good samaritan this offseason. He hosted the Taylor Hall Charity Ball Hockey Tournament to help the Boys and Girls Club in Kingston. That’s on top of working extra hard to make most of his game better. He worked hard to make his skating, which was already one of his better qualities.

The Lady Bing Trophy goes to the player who shows the best sportsmanship. Hall finds himself in a spot he’s never been in, a veteran role. Yes, he was the captain of the Edmonton Oilers, but he was never a veteran. Now, he has seven seasons under his belt, so he will be looked at to lead these young players to prosperity. He’s only 25 years old, but especially with the injury to Travis Zajac, he’ll need to be a leader from day one.

On the ice, he’s done a better job at staying out of the penalty box. He dropped his PIMs from 54 to 32 in his first season with the Devils. He’s not a showboat at all, and just scores goals and goes to the bench. If he’s able to bring it all together and find his offensive identity, he can find himself in the conversation for this award.
