Cory Schneider beat the Vancouver Canucks all by himself. Pucks and Pitchforks looks at the New Jersey Devils goaltender’s ability to win games alone, something he couldn’t do last season. It wasn’t all sunshine and fairytales for the Devils in their win. Marcus Johansson left the game after a scary head-first crash into the boards early in the first period. Luckily, as Alec Gearty with Sporting News points out, head coach John Hynes says that Johansson was kept out of the game for precautionary reasons. Hopefully, he will be able to suit up Friday against the Edmonton Oilers.

Eleven Games In: Could the 2017-18 Devils be For Real?
Tyler Kelley with Pucks and Pitchforks looks at the three stars for October. There are a ton of players to choose from. Taylor Hall took home the first star, which is no surprise. He’s been great from the point, and giving this defense the push it needs.
New Jersey Devils: Who Were October’s Biggest Stars?
Shepard Price with FanSided’s Puck Prose has three bold prediction for the Devils season. One prediction that may not surprise is a player on this team will win the Calder Trophy. What is bold is saying it won’t be first overall pick Nico Hischier. Price also predicts the Devils will make the playoffs. Obviously, that could be far from bold at this point, but many analysts still think the wheels can come off this team.
