The New Jersey Devils did not do much this offseason, but that doesn’t mean there are a lot of holes in their roster. They really have one spot open in the forward ranks. Here are five internal options the Devils could use as a second-line right wing.

The New Jersey Devils have a plethora of prospects that seem to be on the cusp of making a run in the NHL. That could be a big reason why the team decided to let everyone walk in free agency. The losses of Patrick Maroon, Brian Gibbons, Michael Grabner and John Moore really hurt their depth.

Because of that loss of depth, those prospects need to make it to the big leagues much faster.

One of the few places the Devils really need a player is at second line right wing. Right now, Kyle Palmeiri is slotted on the first line. Then, there’s the Stefan NoesenTravis ZajacBlake Coleman line that should not be broken up. On the fourth line, the Devils will likely put out Miles Wood, Brian Boyle and another bottom of the roster player.

Meanwhile, the Devils are looking for someone to pair with Pavel Zacha and Marcus Johansson. There are plenty of internal options, but what is the likelihood for the five best?
