The New Jersey Devils start real practices on Saturday, marking the true beginning of training camp. There are a dozen players with a lot to gain from this year’s training camp, but who has the most to lose?

Training camp is finally upon us, and New Jersey Devils hockey is back! After months of a quiet offseason where the biggest news was replacing some assistant coaches and signing some AHL players, it’s time to have meaningful conversations about Jersey’s Team! With training camp starting, there are a few positions that are up for grabs. There are some players trying to hold on to spots they believed they earned.

This training camp will be one of the more interesting camps in recent years. While there were surprises that come out of camp, usually going into camp things seem a little more consistent. Obviously, there will be a Brian Gibbons who sneaks into the lineup, but at the start everything pointed to John Quenneville making the roster.

This season is much less obvious than things seemed in the past, and surprises can still happen. However, for surprises to happen that means certain players will have to be disappointed. There are a lot of players with a lot to lose this training camp. Some are getting older, and losing value in the minors. Others are coming off lackluster seasons, but think they can bounce back.

So which players have the most to lose this training camp?
