9. Most Shootout Wins In Season: 10

This record is important because it shows that Brodeur excelled in two completely different eras. It’s funny when people say the only reason that Brodeur owns the wins record is because he played in the shootout era, because the era has been around for 15 years and nobody is close to his record. That’s neither here nor there however.

Back in 2006-07, Brodeur recorded 10 wins via the shootout. Brodeur shares this record with Ryan Miller, Mathieu Garon and Jonathan Quick. Sharing this record with three other people isn’t terribly impressive, but being a goalie who played in the early 90s, but was also elite in the shootout era shows something.

That season, Brodeur had 12 shutouts and a .922 save percentage to help the Devils go to the playoffs once again. That season, the Devils won the Atlantic Division by two points over the Pittsburgh Penguins. That means those ten extra points they won via the shootout were very, very important.
