It actually happened! PK Subbbbbban is a New Jersey Devils defenseman. This is an awesome piece of news for something we’ve been wanting for a while.

It has been an incredible 24 hours for the New Jersey Devils. Not even a day after taking Jack Hughes with the first-overall pick, they have made a trade with the Nashville Predators to acquire superstar defenseman PK Subban. This is an awesome and highly anticipated move that we have been talking about for a few weeks now.

He went on ESPN’s First Take during the NBA Finals and brought them up for no reason and that is where the speculation began. Now, the dream has become a reality and Subban will be coming to Newark. He changes the entire outlook of the defense core and this team just got so much better.

Subban is highly regarded as a guy who can move the puck and skate very well. This is the magnitude of trade similar to the one the Devils made for Taylor Hall a few years ago, and you see how that has worked out. The Devils are going to reap the benefits of PK Subban’s game and now their highly skilled group of forwards will benefit from adding a guy like this.

His numbers in Nashville weren’t as high as you’d like but their forwards all score by committee there and he was also part of a really good top four group of defensemen. Now on the Devils, he will step right in and be their number one.

The Devils only gave up Steven Santini, Jeremy Davies, and two 2nd-round picks for Subban. That isn’t even close to what was expected to give up for him and now he is ours. He is a guy that if in the right situation, he can be right there for the Norris Trophy and help get the Devils to where they want to be. This is such exciting news for the Devils who are getting better quickly!
