The New Jersey Devils have their new number one defenseman, and he desperately wants to win the Stanley Cup with his new team.

It is clear that the way the season went for the New Jersey Devils in 2018-19 did not sit well with management. That’s why they made some changes. They struck gold with the lottery and now they have another franchise center in Jack Hughes to join the party.

Then, less than 24 hours after acquiring him they made a really significant trade for Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban. He is the best defenseman the Devils will have had in a really long time. Even the team that went all the way to the Stanley Cup Final in 2012 didn’t really have a number-one defenseman. It is something this team has severely lacked for a long time and now the hope Subban can be that guy.

He gave an interview over the phone with multiple members of the New Jersey Devils media. Subban gave a variety of answers to questions to them that should really excite all fans of this team.

First he stressed the importance of getting his friend Taylor Hall signed long term, which has been something on the minds of all Devils fans basically since the end of the season. He is eligible to sign his extension after July 1st.

Then, he must have said 10 times that he is in this to win this. It was extra special when he said he wants to win the Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils. He mentioned all of his personal accolades like the Norris Trophy and being recognized as one of the top players at his position, but he has never won the Stanley Cup and he really wants to. He seems to be obsessed with the idea of winning it with the New Jersey Devils, and to tell you the truth so are we as fans.

This guy truly seems to be thrilled to play for this team and come to the Rock as a member of the home team. We will be there to cheer him and the rest of the team on come October. This is truly exciting and hopefully P.K. gets his wish.
