New Jersey Devils Should Chronicle P.K. Subban’s Wedding Adventure

New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn announced their engagement. This should be one of the greatest reality segments for the Devils social feeds.

The New Jersey Devils have been seeing a lot of weddings lately. Will Butcher got married right before he signed his new three-year deal. Blake Coleman got married a few weeks before him this summer. Kyle Palmieri got married in early July. It’s been a lot of nuptials around Jersey’s Team this summer. Now, there’s another one in the mix.

P.K. Subban was traded to the New Jersey Devils on day two of the NHL Draft. If was a universally loved trade for the Devils, as they only lost Jeremy Davies, Steve Santini and two 2nd-round picks to bring a former Norris Trophy winner into the fold. With Subban comes one of the greatest Winter Olympians in American history. Lindsey Vonn and Subban have been together since at least April of 2018.

Since then, they don’t do a lot to hide their relationship. Vonn is constantly helping Subban train for his first season in the Garden State. Subban is always walking red carpets with Vonn. They pretty much share every moment together.

That’s why it wasn’t surprising to see this today:

It’s the love story we all really like to see. Subban has been a player that gets such unnecessary hate, but he just seems to be a genuine person off the ice. His and Vonn’s relationship is one we are very invested in. If they are willing, which we don’t know why they wouldn’t be, then the Devils should build off that investment.

If they put together a Youtube series following Subban and Vonn’s journey to marriage, it would be an instant money maker, and could easily make thousands of new New Jersey Devils fans. The females is a market that can be swayed because many of them aren’t hockey fans yet. The women that are hockey fans are some of the most passionate in the business. Lindsey Vonn is an athlete that has universal praise. If the Devils could give access to her, people would watch.

Beyond that, planning a wedding in general is just nuts. No matter who it is, planning a wedding is hectic. We feel like the future Mr. and Mrs. Subban will take it in stride, but it would be ultimately entertaining.

Subban and Vonn have given us behind the scenes access through social media. We feel like we know at least a part of them. It only makes sense to turn this into a money making venture.

There may be some weird issues when it comes to the collective bargaining agreement, but there are likely ways to make it work. If Subban and Vonn want to, let’s turn their wedding into Hard Knocks. It would grow the fanbase while showing a different side of our brand new defenseman. It feels like a win-win for everyone involved.
