The New Jersey Devils have lots of great prospects and they are going to try and show what they can do at the 2019 Prospects Challenge.
The New Jersey Devils are going to participate in 2019 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo New York. The challenge goes from September 6th to September 9th. The Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, and Pittsburgh Penguins will participate with the Devils in a round-robin tournament. It is going to be a chance for fans and management to see the future of the four teams in a pre-training camp tournament.
The Devils will play the Sabres on the 6th, the Penguins on the 7th, and the Bruins on the 9th. It should be fun all around as all four teams have reason to believe in their farm systems and their NHL rosters. The roster for the Devils looks like this:
Forwards
Jesper Boqvist
Graeme Clarke
Mitchell Hoelscher
Ludvig Larson
Mikhail Maltsev
Nikita Popugaev
Yegor Sharangovich
Marian Studenic
Fabian Zetterlund
Defense
Xavier Bernard
Nicholas Canade
Jeremy Groleau
Noah King
Nikita Okhotyuk
Colby Sissons
Ty Smith
Michael Vukojevic
Goalies
Evan Cormier
Akira Schmid
Gilles Senn
There are some guys participating in this challenge that have already made their NHL debuts like Joey Anderson and Nathan Bastian. There are also the last three first-round picks for the Devils in Jack Hughes, Ty Smith, and Michael McLeod. There is a lot of excitement around the Devils going into the season and some of these young guys are the reason why. This is your chance to watch these guys before training camp really begins and they start playing preseason games.
All of these games are going to be available to watch on New Jersey Devils dot-com. It is exciting because this will be the first time we get to see some of these guys in Devils sweaters playing against other teams and not just guys from their own organization. There are some good prospects in this tournament for all four teams but with some of the names the Devils are throwing out there, they have a chance to be the best team in the round-robin.
