The excitement surrounding the New Jersey Devils is growing. It’s going to be so big this season, it’s going to be record breaking.

When was the last time New Jersey Devils fans have been this excited for a season to begin? The Devils haven’t been one to make the big splash in the offseason, but have made some major moves in the past. This season, with the addition of Jack Hughes, Nikita Gusev, P.K. Subban and the return of Taylor Hall, it’s like adding a whole new All-Star team.

Some are trying to temper expectations for the Devils. Hall himself said that it’s playoffs or bust, but people are talking about this Devils team more than the Tampa Bay Lightning, the clear front runners for the Stanley Cup. We here today will do just that, and feed into the hype.

This New Jersey Devils team could be incredible. No, honestly, the biggest issues with this team early in the season is chemistry and goaltending. Cory Schneider has looked great so far, and the chemistry has been off the charts. So, what’s going to stop this team?

Now, let’s be realistic. There are some team records that are very attainable for certain players this season. Whether it’s because of the amazing rookies that are joining this team, or because of Taylor Hall’s motivations, we can see records breaking all season long. It’s going to be a fun season, but watching as some players have their scores go up and up, closer to breaking records would make it even more fun. These five players have the best chance to make it happen.
