The New Jersey Devils have made serious adjustments to its roster, and now the team can actually gain notoriety when it comes to winning hardware at the end of the season.

The hype surrounding the New Jersey Devils means nothing in just a few hours as the team drops the puck at the Prudential Center for the first time when games count. We’ve been waiting for this moment since the moment the Devils were named as winners of the NHL Draft Lottery. That moment will come at 7 p.m. against the Winnipeg Jets.

This is game one of 82 this season. We expect a majority of those games to go the Devils way after some of the major additions they made. Not only did the Devils use that first-overall pick to take Jack Hughes, they added P.K. Subban, Nikita Gusev and Wayne Simmonds. On top of that, Taylor Hall returns to the lineup and Jesper Boqvist makes his debut.

With all this excitement comes hype, and the Devils have been more hyped this season than any other season in history. That’s a bold claim, we know, but even the Stanley Cup winning teams weren’t getting this much press coverage.

With press coverage comes new ears hearing about this Devils team that might not have before. That will help those who vote for the NHL Awards remember the names of the Devils best when it comes time to put names on paper.

We do this article every year, and we’re not going to lie to you, it was hard last season. The year earlier, there was a lot the Devils could do, and Devils players ended up walking away with two of the biggest awards of the season (Taylor Hall won the Hart Trophy and Brian Boyle won the Masterton Trophy).

This season, the Devils could be taking away more awards. Which ones are most likely to come to the Garden State in 2020?
