The New Jersey Devils have had some time since trading Taylor Hall and now some rumors have it that they are taking calls on Kyle Palmieri.

The New Jersey Devils have a lot to think about heading into the trade deadline. There are some rumors out there that they may move a few of their key pieces to load up for next season. That was not expected to be the case going into the season after the Devils won the offseason but that’s the way it is. They are going to likely have a top ten pick again which should also really help their infrastructure going forward.

One name that could garner a lot of attention is their leading scorer Kyle Palmieri. Kyle Palmieri is a fan favorite in New Jersey so they would surely need to get a good package in return if they were going to trade him. Palmieri is a great player that deserves a chance to win if he wants. It would also be nice to see him see this rebuild through, but that might not be what he wants.

Palmieri has 17 goals and 15 assists for 30 points in 45 games for New Jersey so far this season. He has had an awesome first half to the season for the Devils so a lot of teams would really enjoy what he brings to the table. What he brings is a strong shot and a true leader to a clubhouse. He can also make plays to create high danger chances for his teammates and is extremely underrated defensively.

Trading Palmieri isn’t something that fans should want. With that said, if an offer from a contending team comes in that’s too good to pass up, the Devils would be smart to at least consider it. If it isn’t a deal that makes them fall off their chair they should say no. If one does, they should consider it. These are the three teams where Palmieri would look the best:
