Toronto Maple Leafs

It would be a local kid joining the local team for Wayne Simmonds to be a Toronto Maple Leafs forward. The Leafs have had as up and down of a season as you could have for a team with so much talent. They have elite talent at forward like Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander. They are capable of scoring some goals, but they have a long way to go before they are looked at as a Stanley Cup contender.

They can make people think that before playoffs based on what they do at the trade deadline. They could add Wayne Simmonds to add a little bit of toughness to their roster. A lot of analysts get on them for not being strong enough and Simmonds would be good for that. The Devils expected that when they signed him, but he really doesn’t have a place on this team anymore because they are going nowhere this season.

There is a good chance the Leafs’ season ends in the playoffs, so adding Simmonds could give them a boost. He would probably fit right in on their fourth line. He isn’t going to provide the offense like he once did in his Philadelphia Flyers days, but he can be hard on the forecheck and stand up for his teammates. Simmonds is also apparently loved in every locker room he has ever been with. The Leafs could use some of that kind off positivity right now.
