Philadelphia Flyers

It would be so cool to see Simmonds career come right back around to being on the Flyers again. He has been missed in that locker room ever since they dealt him to the Nashville Predators at the trade deadline last season. This year, Philly believes they are going to have a chance at the playoffs, so adding Simmonds could help them in that quest.

It would certainly provide an emotional spark to players like Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek, and Sean Couturier who spent so many years with Simmonds. He would not play in the top six with those guys anymore, but he would be in the room and on the bench with them. A move like that might really spark the team, which is why the Flyers would make sense for this type of trade. He would play in their bottom six. He might even find a bit of a spark himself and score a few more goals with that team.

The rival Devils and Flyers might be hard to imagine ever making a trade with each other, but if each team felt it was beneficial for themselves, the trade partner shouldn’t matter. The Devils made a trade with the Rangers in the 2017-18 season which is a way bigger rivalry. If it helps your team get what it needs, it shouldn’t matter who it is.
