More Development

The New Jersey Devils are a young team at the NHL level. They are going to get even younger if any of these players on Binghamton graduate to the NHL level. That is why fans need to be keeping up with the AHL squad. There are players on that team besides Boqvist that everyone should be paying attention too.

Of course, there is Joey Anderson and Michael McLeod who are currently with the big club. They should be back down in time for the playoffs if they make it. Anderson has really taken a step this year at both levels but they are still waiting for something from McLeod. If one or both of them are impact players with New Jersey next season that would be a major win.

Then there are other players to keep an eye on like Nick Merkley. The Devils got Merkley in the Taylor Hall trade with the Arizona Coyotes. Kevin Bahl was the main prospect that came back in the trade but Merkley has been a nice surprise based on how good he has been. There are plenty of players down in Binghamton that could help the Devils be a good team one day. The better they do down the stretch here this season, the better off they will be going in the long run.
