The New Jersey Devils have some players that might be considered stars that they might be forced to trade for different reasons.

The New Jersey Devils made a lot of moves last offseason that they thought would help propel them into becoming a good team. They have some franchise cornerstones that they drafted with the first overall pick in their respective drafts and have been trying to rebuild around them. Well, it didn’t work out in 2019-20 for the Devils as they were last in the Metropolitan Division.

Well, that doesn’t mean that the future isn’t still bright. The important pieces of their core are all currently still under the age of 23 and will be there for a very long time. They also have multiple first-round picks to work on as soon as this year. All will be good in the long run even though this year didn’t work out.

Since this season didn’t work out as they hoped, there might be some incoming changes. Players that have one year left on their deal or make a lot of money could be on the move if the team doesn’t see them as people that will be a part of the solution in the long term. It is less than ideal that it didn’t work out but it is what it is.

It is easy to be attached to players for whatever reason but the thing that the Devils need to do is whatever they deem is right for the organization in the short and long term. As a result, they might have to trade some rather popular players. There are no guarantees that they move even one of them, but these three stars could be ones looked at as trade bait.
