Familiarity

Taylor Hall has a big decision to make. The next half-decade or more of his life hinges on whatever offers he receives and where he ultimately decides to go. Imagine making that big of a decision but not needing to adjust to a new home when you make said decision. That would be the case for Hall if he chose to come back to play for the Devils.

The Devils acquired Hall in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers back in 2016. They gave away Adam Larsson in a one for one trade. He then went on to spend parts of four seasons with them. He knows the area and he knows a lot of people within the organization now. It would certainly be a comfortable situation for him in the long term because he wouldn’t be going on to unfamiliar territory.

Most importantly, Hall would have familiarity with his teammates. Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, Jack Hughes, and Kyle Palmieri have all had success with Hall on his line at different times. The most successful years of Hall’s career have been with the Devils and it showed with his tremendous chemistry with some of these guys. It would be cool to see them all reunite.
