A trade for Mitch Marner would be great for the New Jersey Devils.

The New Jersey Devils have a lot of issues all over their lineup. There are some young guys who will be taking the next step anytime now, so you can expect them to be pretty good soon. However, they are always need to improve their roster. They might be able to make a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs that can help them improve their offense. If Mitch Marner is available for a trade, the Devils should absolutely look into it.

Marner would do a lot of good for New Jersey if he came over. He would instantly be the guy in the lineup with the most success in the league offensively. There is a chance that Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier reach that level one day, but Marner is already there. Marner has 83 goals and 208 assists for 291 points in 300 career games. It won’t be long into the 2020-21 season before he is over a point per game in his career.

There seems to be something with the Maple Leafs that needs changing. They have so many offensive studs there with Marner like Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and William Nylander. They might need to start spending different parts of their cap space somewhere else in order to take that next step. The Devils might have some assets that can help them with that.

As for Marner, if he came to the Devils, there are so many different options for him as far as his role. It is fair to assume that a spot on Nico Hischier’s top line would make the most sense. Hughes has a higher offensive ceiling, but Hischier plays more of a north and south game which might be the best way to take advantage of Marner’s skill set. One of these three trade packages might be able to get the job done:
