The Obvious top-three

New York Rangers. Alexis Lafreniere . 1. player. 95. . LW

The New York Rangers really struck gold here when they won the lottery in the second phase. A placeholder team won it in the first phase and New York won the selection after they were swept out of the playoffs by the Carolina Hurricanes. It was tough to see for Devils fans but now we have to deal with Alexis Lafreniere on the other side for the next decade and a half. There is no doubt that he will be a game-breaking left winger for the Rangers.

Lafreniere is coming off a season where he was the captain of the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL. He will join the likes of Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad along with a bunch of great young talent in that organization. They are well on their way to completing a very well executed rebuild and the Devils need to really keep up with them. This is a home run pick for the Rangers and they are lucky to have him.

player. 67. . C/LW. Los Angeles Kings. Tim Stutzle . 2

The Los Angeles Kings have a really nice farm system and it is going to get even better after Thursday night. They won the second overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft Lottery and that is going to really help them moving forward. Adding Tim Stutzle would really help elevate them back into being a title contender sooner than later. They have shown many times that they can be a strong franchise and this current retool that they are going to will prove that even further.

player. 91. . C. Ottawa Senators. Quinton Byfield. 3

A lot of people see Quinton Byfield as the second-best prospect in this draft. The problem for him is that the Los Angels Kings probably see him as the third-best so he will fall to the Ottawa Senators at the third overall pick. This is going to be a home run pick for them by the time he reaches the NHL. He will eventually be a part of a great young core with players like Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot.
